Velvety soft: Series 7 Belfast chair from Fritz Hansen
Soft Italian velvet provides a particularly luxurious seating experience - the exclusive velvet version of the Series 7 chair not only impresses with its high-quality seat, but also with its perfectly matching legs in bronze tone.
The Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen is by far one of Fritz Hansen's best-selling chairs. The pressure-moulded veneer chair is a further development of the classic "Ant". Visionary Arne Jacobsen utilised the possibilities of laminating technology to the fullest extent and thus succeeded in creating the iconic shape of the popular chair.
Designer Arne Jacobsen
Arne Jacobsen worked with Fritz Hansen as early as 1934. However, it was not until 1952 that he achieved his breakthrough with "The Ant", which was followed by the well-known and popular Series 7 in 1955. Arne Jacobsen was extremely productive both as a designer and as an architect. At the end of the 1950s, he designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen and developed the Egg, the Swan and the Series 3300 for the same project.
Material and format
The velvet cover of the chair is available in various colours. The frame is made of powder-coated steel. The chair is 50 cm wide, 52 cm deep and 82 cm high. The seat height is 46 cm.
