How the Ethnicraft story began...
in 1995, Antwerp entrepreneur Philippe Delaisse decided to bring home a container of furniture and other furnishings from his holiday in Indonesia. This is how the story of Ethnicraft begins. His long-time friend Benoit Loos joined forces with Delaisse and so the two of them imported a new container every few months to sell the designer furniture in Belgium to interested customers. A year later, many new customers were waiting at the docks of Antwerp with numbered tickets in their hands to buy one of the special pieces of furniture. The partners quickly decided that they wanted to design their own furniture and have it produced in Indonesia.
The outstanding Indonesian craftsmanship is still at the heart of the Ethnicraft brand today. Further production facilities in Serbia and Vietnam have been added to comprehensively represent the versatile range of high-quality design furniture.
Sustainable design
Designed with recycled teak, the Spindle bed by Ethnicraft is a particularly sustainable design that breathes new life into an existing material.
