Alexander Girard
Alexander Girard is known as a formative figure of American design in the post-war period. The American was born in 1907. Girard originally studied architecture, but in the course of his career he worked as a furniture, graphic, exhibition and interior designer. Textile design was a focal point of his work. Abstract, geometric forms and a variety of colour constellations are examples of his work.
Material and format
The bird is made of solid maple wood from France. It is 23.5 cm wide, 7.5 cm deep and 15 cm high.
