An extensive collection of human and animal figures made of wood - The Wooden Dolls from Vitra are so different in their appearance and yet they have a lot in common as a family: they are made of fir wood and are hand-painted!
Alexander Girard designed them in 1953 as decoration for his own house in Santa Fe. These originals can be found in the Vitra Design Museum and serve as a model for the model for the new re-edition. The hand-painting process results in subtle variations that make each wooden figure a unique and individual specimen and individual.
Alexander Girard
As a figure of American design in the post-war period is Alexander Girard. The American was born in 1907.
