Interstuhl - With pioneering spirit to success

The company was founded in 1930 by Wilhelm Link as a farrier's business in Tieringen (Baden-Württemberg). Due to the decline in horse keeping after the end of the Second World War, Link and his son Werner developed a new business idea: because of a shortage of comfortable seating for seamstresses in the textile industry, the duo invented suitable chairs for the workers in 1961 and began manufacturing industrial work chairs. The interstuhl brand was launched in 1967. The company, which is still family-run today, is now one of the leading suppliers of industrial and office chairs and still traditionally produces in Germany.
