Interplay: Washington Chair Skeleton Knoll International
The Washington chairs by Sir David Adjaye play with the interplay between supporting and balancing through their special frame, making them functional and sculptural at the same time. Washington Skeleton is reduced to a fine geometric grid, while its reverse counterpart, Skin, surrounds the same form with a coloured shell.
Material and format
Made of die-cast aluminium, the chair's shell and legs are cast in three parts and joined with mortise and tenon joints and stainless steel fasteners. The chair is fitted with four nylon glides and is available in three finishes: extremely durable powder coating for outdoor use in black, green and grey; a copper-plated finish is also available in a natural state that allows the chair to patina over time. The copper finish is not suitable for outdoor use. The chair measures 46 cm in width, 51 cm in depth and 83 cm in height. The seat height is 44.5 cm.
