Description
A Bauhaus masterpiece: Walter Gropius lever handle from Tecnolumen
Manufactured according to original drawings by the visionary architect Walter Gropius , the Walter Gropius lever handle from Tecnolumen impresses with its timeless appearance. This outstanding piece of design history was first created in 1922 in Gropius' private building studio in Weimar and has had a firm place in the heritage of Neues Bauen ever since.
The Gropius lever handle has been further developed and perfected over the years. Walter Gropius' design principles, which are derived from simple geometric shapes such as cylinders and square bars, lend this lever handle a timeless aesthetic.
Material and manufacturing process
Available in various finishes such as matt nickel, polished nickel and chrome, the Gropius lever handle is a perfect match for a variety of interior styles.
The door handles are made of high-quality brass MS63, a proven copper-zinc alloy that is refined at 1400° Celsius in a gas-fired casting furnace. Every detail is ground and brushed or polished by hand before undergoing the final finishing process in an electroplating bath. Numerous intermediate checks ensure that only perfect parts go into production.
More than twenty elaborate work steps are carried out before the individual parts are assembled into a finished door fitting. The result is an elegant, unique piece that not only fulfils the highest aesthetic demands, but is also durable and resistant.
