Crowning glory: VL Ring Crown pendant luminaire by Louis Poulsen
The Danish broadcasting building was equipped with the VL Ring Crown lamps by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in the 1940s. The design lights convince with a distinctive, organic shape.
In 2019, the VL Ring Crown was reintroduced true to the original design and the materials used at the time. It is made of untreated polished brass and equipped with shades made of glossy white, three-layered and mouth-blown opal glass.
Louis Poulsen - lighting design from Denmark
The Danish luminaire manufacturer was already founded in 1874 and has been producing products dedicated to the duality of design and light ever since. The luminaires are designed for various purposes and are therefore particularly functional. Louis Poulsen produces indoor as well as outdoor lights in close cooperation with well-known designers such as Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Øivind Slaatto, Alfred Homann, Oki Sato and GamFratesi. Thus, the manufacturer has established itself as one of the most important global suppliers of lighting elements.
