USM Haller: Furniture maker with a system
The acronym USM stands for the initials of the company's founder Ulrich Schäfer on the one hand and the first letter of the town of Münsingen in Switzerland on the other. Thanks to the invention of the node in 1965, furniture could be produced according to the modular principle - an ingenious coup. Over time, the furniture, originally designed for the office, became so popular that it was - and still is - found in many homes around the globe.
