The Globe table lamp 228 Oluce
Your advantages with einrichten design
personal, individual, passionately
Upside down: the Globe table light from Oluce. The Globe was designed at a time when round shapes, shrill colours and an avant-garde design were en vogue - more precisely in 1964.
Pretty new (design-) world
The Globe designer lamps were created by the Italian - and pipe smoking - architect and industrial designer Joe Colombo. His designs are characterized by three F's: futurism, functionality and the belief in future progress. In contrast, the Globe table light with its material combination, transparent glass and metal, looks pleasantly discreet and elegant.
Material
To prevent the Globe from rolling away it is equipped with a small base, which is a real eye catcher thanks to the curved shape. Since the lamp socket is mounted on top, the light emits downwards. The lampshade is made of transparent, blown glass. 60 watts ensure good illumination. The luminaire diameter is 30 cm.
Designer
As already mentioned, The Globe was designed by Joe Colombo. The visionary designer was ahead in many aspects of his time. In our online shop you can find more designs by Colombo, such as the Boby trolley with swiveling drawers or the extravagant Multichair. In the case of the latter, the elements can also be used individually. Joe Colombo died in 1971 at the early age of 41 in Milan.
