Cat lover: TECTA CAT wooden figure by Tecta
This special cat is not to be excluded from the company history of the Lauenförder manufacturer - tomcat Karlchen as a wooden sculpture, the well-known and popular Tecta Cat.
Meanwhile the tomcat is in the fifth generation at Tecta's home and gets a really memorable symbol with his wooden counterpart. The black cat with the bright yellow eyes was designed by Dominik Kirgus. The design was initially only intended as a graphic for a Tecta exhibition in Japan, but the enthusiasm for the cat was so great that they finally decided to make a wooden figure.
Designer Dominik Kirgus alludes to the Bauhaus era by using circles and lines that give Karlchen a linear appearance. The large, round hump and sparkling eyes look as if the cat had sprung directly from one of Grimm's fairy tales.
Material and size
The Tecta cat is made of black lacquered MDF wood. It is 22 cm wide, 6 cm deep and 30 cm high.
