A special kind of couch: the Targa Sofa by Wiener GTV Design is light and airy and comfortable at the same time. The design creation was created in 2015 by Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, who together form the Gamfratesi design label.
Tradition and innovation
Modern, unique design paired with a time-honoured manufacturing technique: Wiener GTV Design perfectly masters the balancing act between the traditional values of the Thonet Vienna brothers, who founded the company, and new innovative design ideas.
The fact that the Gamfratesi designer duo fits this basic idea perfectly is immediately apparent when you look at the Targa sofa. The solid wood frame, which is manufactured according to the old bentwood tradition, and the modern seat and backrest upholstery form a perfect unit.
The icing on the cake of the design is the insert made of Viennese wickerwork above the backrest. Incidentally, the elliptical shield element made of solid wood on the back of the two-seater gives it its name. Targa in Italian means "shield" or "plaque".
Versions of the collection
The Targa Sofa is not alone: Gamfratesi has also designed Targa Lounge, a perfectly matching designer armchair. Both Targa Lounge and the couch of the same name are not only suitable for use in private rooms, but also for contract areas that need to be given an unofficial and casual character.
