This special edition is characterised by the selection of international landmarks. The most famous architectural masterpieces are immortalised in this game. The chess set impresses with its excellent craftsmanship and well thought-out design.

The black side features the Willis Tower from Chicago as the king, The Shard from England as the queen and the famous Chrysler Building from New York. Dubai's most famous hotel - the Burj Al Arab - is also included as a knight and the Roman landmark, the Colosseum, as a tower. The Sydney Opera House as a pawn completes the scenery.

The silver side consists of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, as the king and the Empire State Building as the queen. On the other hand, the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai is the bishop, the Bank of China Tower is the knight and the Indian Lotus Temple is the tower. The Louvre in Paris is also included as a pawn.

Skyline Chess - Unique interpretations of a timeless game

The two London architects Chris Prosser and Ian Flood created Skyline Chess to pit architectural landmarks from around the world against each other, combining impeccable design and the art of play in an impressive setting. The idea was born during an evening game of chess and a lively discussion about how to position the architectural masterpieces.

Material and format

The chess set is a 32-piece set made of solid stainless steel and the board is made of hand-printed wood. Also included is a presentation box for storage. The quality of the materials used and the attention to detail were decisive factors in the choice of this project, which clearly epitomises craftsmanship.

The game measures 38 cm in width and depth and 1 cm in height. The weight is 4 kg.
