Simple elegance: Sophie mirror by Mater
The Sophie mirror collection by Mater is characterised by its simple form and the combination of leather and wood . The French designer Jean-Francois Merillou was inspired by old barrels and designed three mirrors in different sizes and colours. The hand-hammered nails additionally take up the idea of traditional barrel making and support the rustic design.
Material and format
The wood of the mirrors comes from sustainably harvested mango wood, which is a by-product of the mango industry and was previously only used as firewood. The mango tree is a fast-growing plant and thanks to the use of mango wood, it can now be used almost completely without waste products.
