Industrial Aesthetics: AJ52 Society Table Desk by Carl Hansen
Designed in 1952 for the New York office of the American-Scandinavian Foundation, Carl Hansen's AJ52 Society Table Desk is still absolutely modern today. Its special elegance combined with industrial aesthetics creates a timeless look that can still be seen today.
Arne Jacobsen designed the AJ52 Society Table at the height of his career as a timeless example of a functionalist design approach. He used techniques and materials such as the finely structured leather top and the narrow tubular metal frame to create a filigree look.
Absolutely practical
The desk not only has plenty of storage space, but also an integrated desk lamp made of brushed stainless steel and a letterbox with glass fronts. A drawer combination is attached under the table, which is made of metal and veneer wood and has six drawers.
Arne Jacobsen is one of Denmark's most renowned architects and is known for his precise and expressive aesthetics, which still serve as inspiration for many designers today.
Material and format
The mailbox and drawer combination is made of walnut wood. The frame of the table is made of metal. The table top has a black leather cover. The table measures 140 x 70 cm.
