White star: Siro table lamp by Oluce
The name Siro is derived from Sirius, the brightest white star in the night sky. Thus, the inspiration for Marta Perla's design was the typical human need to look for possible connections between one's own past and cosmic phenomena in the movements of the sky.
From the front, Siro appears simple and two-dimensional, a small round plate on a white background. A closer look from the side reveals the hollow white interior of the metal hemisphere, which enchants with its bright light.
With its geometric shapes, Siro not only looks decorative, but also super modern. In the colour variants satin bronze and satin gold, the table lamp is particularly elegant and receives a beautiful graphic contrast from the white interior. Set a stellar highlight with the Siro table lamp!
Young designer Marta Perla
Marta Perla was born in 1995 in Terni, where she lived until the age of 20. After graduating from high school, Perla moved to Rome to study product design at the IED, the European Institute of Design. Her years at the IED culminated in a thesis she wrote in collaboration with Oluce.
Perla pays great attention to the graphic aspect of a product and the concept behind it. Her work is mainly influenced by Sato Oki's nendo, The Memphis Group and Wolfgang Weingart's Swiss Punk. Perla is currently a junior designer at angelettiruzza design studio.
Oluce - luminaire design made in Italy
Oluce was founded in 1945 by Giuseppe Ostuni and is the oldest Italian design company still active in the lighting world. The product portfolio is characterised by excellence and innovation. Passionate aesthetic as well as technological approaches about the potential of light are translated into concrete form. Over the years, Oluce has managed to build a collection, rich and varied, populated by products that transcend fashion and become icons of Italian design.
