About the designer
Eero Saarinen studied sculpture in Paris and architecture at Yale before working on furniture designs with Norman Bel Geddes. During this time he worked with his father as an architect. He collaborated with his friend Charles Eames on several furniture design projects and opened his own office in Bloomfield Hills in 1950. He is known for many buildings, such as Dulles International Airport in Washington DC, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri and the TWA terminal at Kennedy International Airport in New York. The designer has been honoured with numerous awards and has been the subject of many exhibitions.
Material and format
The tables are available in white and black laminate, coated marble in a wide range of colours and in veneer with bevelled edges. Acrylic stone top for outdoor use. Coated marble tops are provided with a transparent polyester coating to prevent stains caused by use.
Due to the thickness of the table tops, there is a 1 cm difference in height between the laminate, wood, acrylic stone and marble table tops.

The plinth is an original Saarinen design and is made of heavy cast aluminium and is in both white and black additionally protected with Rilsan.

The Knoll International logo is attached to the underside of the base. There is also a plate with the KnollStudio logo and the signature of the designer Eero Saarinen on the underside of the table top or on the support of the table top.
