Flying high: Saarinen barstool Barstool H 114 cm Knoll International
The Saarinen barstool is a classic in design history and was created by the designer of the same name, Harry Eero Saarinen. in 1950, Hans and Florence Knoll offered the sculptor Eero Saarinen the freedom to use his artistic concepts to design a chair for their collection, which was still in its early stages. "We decided to let him work in complete freedom so as not to hinder the creativity that already characterised him in the panorama of designers at the time," recalls Florence Knoll. In his constant quest for perfection, Saarinen worked by hand and tried out many variations to shape the space, using a light, airy structure. The chair is characterised by its extremely comfortable seat and its adaptability to the most diverse contexts, from the home to the contract sector.
Material and format
The bar stool has a welded steel structure with a high-gloss or satin chrome finish. It is 54 cm wide, 58 cm deep and 114 cm high. The seat height is 74 cm.
