Togetherness by the sea: Roots Double Stool Bench Gan
Back to the roots: you really can't sit more simply and beautifully than on this design stool bench by Gan. The two-seater stool made of jute and wood is reminiscent of the chairs in Vincent van Gogh's paintings from the south of France, of tradition, of nature and of the simple life in Mediterranean surroundings. The seat is made of jute and cotton, the legs and crossbars of wood. The stools nestle up against each other and invite you to sit in cosy togetherness. The Roots Double Stool belongs to the Roots series designed for Gan by designer Inma Bermudez. The double stool is available in four different pattern variations, so that it matches one of the four different Roots rug patterns in the series.
From lamps to porcelain: designer Inma Bermudez
The multi-talented Spanish industrial designer Inma Bermudez celebrates international success with her products; she has worked for German design studios, given courses at the Vitra Design Museum and works for a Spanish porcelain company. With her Roots collection, she has fully convinced the Spanish manufacturer Gan of her talent.
Carpet design at its best: manufacturer GAN from Spain
Actually, the traditional Spanish company GAN, founded in 1941, specialised exclusively in carpets. But in the mid-1980s, the competition in this sector became fiercer. GAN realised that a rethink was necessary and went for a new design. Modern and contemporary and designed by professional designers. They were sure of the surprise effect internationally in the traditional craft, although it still took time for customers to get used to this completely new carpet styling. But in the mid-90s, the new orientation became a success story that continues to this day. GAN was also on the spot in time for the rapidly growing outdoor sector and expanded its product range. The preservation of traditional craftsmanship is particularly important to the company: all products are handmade in India, always hand in hand with experts in craftsmanship and design. A fine sense of style, tradition and modernity characterises GAN's high-quality products.
