It is a masterpiece of classic design: the famous rocking chair by the Thonet brothers Vienna from 1885.

Design for eternity

Pure nostalgia: when you look at the traditional rocking chair by Thonet, you immediately succumb to the magic of past centuries.

Viennese GTV Design preserves these treasures of the design world by reissuing the original designs by the Thonet brothers. This is also the case with the well-known rocking chair, which can certainly be seen as the flagship of the reedition collection.

Original bentwood design

Many Thonet designer pieces of furniture are made of bentwood - but there is hardly any design that shows off this craftsmanship as well as the Thonet rocking chair!

The steam-bent beechwood struts entwine along the runners of the rocking chair like ornate ornaments. The upholstery of the seat and backrest, which is made of Viennese wickerwork, a natural-coloured rattan fabric, is a perfect match.

Classic version

The famous Thonet rocking chair is familiar in the version shown here: dark stained (B 03) beech wood, natural-coloured upholstery. However, since we carry all products by the manufacturer Wiener GTV Design, you have the option of giving the classic rocking chair a modern makeover.

You can find out what options are available to you in the PDF under Downloads. Simply send us an enquiry and we will be happy to make you a non-binding offer.

One thing is certain: lovers of antique furniture should order the Thonet rocking chair right here in our online shop!

Do you like it more modern? Then Furia, the new rocking horse by Wiener GTV Design, is worth a look!
