Classic from the Black Forest: quartz cuckoo clock with music and dancing couple Engstler
The first cuckoo clocks were made in the Black Forest as early as the 18th century. The name Engstler stands for a family business in this sector that has been run for several generations. In addition to tradition, Engstler also favours innovation through technology. The result is Black Forest clocks of exceptional quality, both technically and in terms of craftsmanship. All figures are hand-painted - handmade in Germany.
Material and format
The clock is made of solid wood and is genuinely handcrafted - made in Germany. The small roof is covered with real wooden shingles. The clock hand is also made of wood. It measures 42 cm in width and 40 cm in height.
The quartz movement is battery-operated, so no winding is necessary. The pendulum swings back and forth and every hour on the hour the little door opens and the cuckoo comes out and announces the new hour with its call. The clock also has a musical movement with 12 different melodies that alternate every hour. The dancing figures move, the wood chopper raises his arm and the mill wheel turns. Both crystals also light up to the music.
The clock plays an effective waterfall sound and echoes in the background of the cuckoo call. It has an automatic switch-off at night via a light sensor.
