The design

Philippe Nigro is a French designer in the professional limbo between France and Italy. Experimental research, a pragmatic feeling for the know-how of his customers as well as the influence of French-Italian culture are only a few factors that shape his work

With Portable Atelier, Nigro wanted to create a collection, which is entirely in the spirit of the "nomadic spirit" and can be used in different places and for different purposes. In this sense, the stool fits very well into any space and masters the flowing transition between bar stool and seat at the workbench wonderfully. However, it was originally designed as a desk chair for the Portable Atelier table, with which it is visually on the same wavelength.

Material and format

Portable Atelier is based on a tripod frame made of matt black lacquered steel. The round seat made of solid oak ( ) has a diameter of 34 cm. Thanks to the swivel thread, the seat height can be varied between 45 and 63 cm, making the stool an extremely flexible seating option.
