Graceful design: Platner Easy Ottoman Knoll International
The Platner collection from 1966 stands for graceful and decorative design in a gentle form. Designer Warren Platner created the furniture, by welding hundreds of bent steel rods to round frames that serve as both structure and ornament. With its appealing and inviting forms, the Platner Easy Ottoman is not only the epitome of glamorous comfort, but also the perfect complement to the Platner Easy Chair.
Material and format
The ottoman is made from handcrafted moulds of vertical steel wire rods welded to circular horizontal rods. These are bright nickel-plated and protected with clear lacquer. The base is made of clear plastic extrusion. The upholstery is based on a moulded fibreglass shell and consists of a foam cushion quilting. The ottoman has a diameter of 66.5 cm and a seat height of 41 cm.
