Description
50s Industrial Chic: PK55 Table by Fritz Hansen
Among the work and dining tables, the PK55 is an icon of the 50s. It originates from the design pen of Poul Kjærholm and was introduced in 1957 as a smaller version of the PK51, which was previously launched on the market as a matching set with the PK11 chair. The rectangular table is characterised by its industrial look and the typical material mix of wood and steel. With its clean look, the designer table fits into almost any interior and suits many furnishing styles, such as industrial or Scandinavian minimalism. With the PK55, you can embellish not only the cosy dining or working area, but also modern office environments. Or combine the PK55 with the PK11 chair - also available in our shop - and create a unified home office space!Scandinavian craftsmanship: Poul Kjærholm
Poul Kjærholm was a trained carpenter and continued his studies at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts. He had a special interest in various building materials, especially steel, which he regarded with the same artistic delicacy as other natural materials.Poul Kjærholm was employed by Fritz Hansen for about a year, where he created a number of remarkable designs. In 1955, he began his collaboration with the manufacturer Ejvind Kold Christensen, which lasted until Kjærholm's death in 1980. In 1982, Fritz Hansen took over the production and distribution of "The Kjærholm Collection", which was developed from 1951 to 1967 - designs that are logical down to the smallest detail and have an aura of exclusivity. In 2007, Fritz Hansen added two new pieces to the Kjærholm Collection that had never been in production before: the PK8 chair and the PK58 dining table.Material and format
The PK55 consists of a table top, made of ash veneer, and a frame made of satin-finished, brushed stainless steel. The table has the following dimensions: W 90 x L 180 x H 72 cm.Would you like a little more? No problem! You can also find the larger PK51 version in our online shop. - Dimensions / Infos
