Originally covered with wicker, the PK1 chair now shines in a contemporary interpretation with FSC-certified woven paper cord. This wickerwork, based on Kjærholm's original design, is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans. Each chair requires an impressive 15 hours of hand-woven labour. The result is a chair that not only impresses aesthetically, but also offers maximum comfort and exceptional stability.
Poul Kjærholm, a pioneer of Danish modernism, was characterised by his functionalist approach and preference for simple forms. In the PK1 chair from Carl Hansen & Søn, Kjærholm's design philosophy and material preferences merge in a fascinating way.

The PK1 chair is available in two stylish versions, allowing it to blend harmoniously into different interior styles: In an elegant stainless steel model or in a modern black powder-coated frame.
