Anniversary look: PK61 coffee table by Fritz Hansen
To celebrate its 150-year company history, manufacturer Fritz Hansen developed the anniversary collection "Forever New". This includes a careful selection of the most legendary designs of the last 150 years - and in new exciting looks.
It goes without saying that the PK61 coffee table by Poul Kjaerholm should not be missing! This is launched with new Norwegian marble, which is amazingly close to the original material used.
Impressive
Designed by Poul Kjaerholm, the PK 61 coffee table by Fritz Hansen is one of the special design objects of the manufacturer. The industrial background of the famous designer is clearly recognisable, which is reflected here in the angular design and the pragmatic charisma.
The four elements of the frame are screwed together and thus contribute to the unique look of the table. The table top is removable and again shows that the designer uses gravity to position elements.
Material and format
The PK61 coffee table is 80 cm wide and deep and 32 cm high. The frame is made of matt brushed stainless steel. For the anniversary version, rolled grey-white marble is used for the tabletop. This is Norwegian marble from Fauske, near the Arctic Circle.
This stone was chosen because it is amazingly similar to the Porsgrunn marble originally used by Kjaerholm - unfortunately no longer available today. The marble is characterised by its wave structure as well as mineral inclusions that shimmer golden or silver depending on the incidence of light.
Note: For daily use, it is recommended to treat the marble with Stone Wash for protection. This is included with the purchase. The first treatment intensifies the colour of the Grey-White marble and makes it darker.
