Sculptural: PH Louvre LED Pendant Light by Louis Poulsen
The model PH Louvre was designed in 1957 for the church of the Adventists in Skodsborg . The globe-shaped luminaire has 13 shade segments. The lamp is a simplified version of a model that Poul Henningsen already created in 1942 under the name "Spiralen".
As with all designs, Poul Henningsen's main concern was to create luminaires with glare-free light, so that they cast soft shadows and the light cone is perfectly aligned.
Louis Poulsen - lighting design from Denmark
The Danish luminaire manufacturer was already founded in 1874 and since then has been producing products that are dedicated to the duality of design and light. The luminaires are designed for various purposes and are therefore particularly functional. Louis Poulsen produces indoor as well as outdoor lights in close cooperation with well-known designers such as Poul Henningsen, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Øivind Slaatto, Alfred Homann, Oki Sato and GamFratesi.
