Like a tent: Pao Steel Floor Lamp floor lamp Hay
The Pao lamp collection is an exciting collaboration with established Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. Named after the soft, luminous shape of traditional Mongolian Pao tents that are lit at night, Fukasawa wanted to capture the same atmospheric warmth and friendliness in the Pao floor lamp. Pao is based on Fukasawa's aesthetic of beautiful simplicity; he has created an everyday object that draws on design values from the natural world. By keeping the aesthetic modest and simple, he brings the design into harmony with its surroundings and emphasises his primary intention to make the atmosphere pleasant and comfortable.
Material and format
The Pao floor lamp consists of a weighted steel base and a slender stand with the distinctive shade made of glass or steel, which provides a wide light output while emitting a warm, homely light.
