Oru side table Ø 35 x H 47 cm from Blomus
For his Oru series, German designer Robin Scholtysik was inspired by the traditional Japanese art form of origami. Based on the precise folding of paper, the table is made of thin, powder-coated steel sheets which - when put together - create a three-dimensional shape, while cut-out joints reveal important small details such as opposing radii and delicately curved interfaces. The construction of Oru is as intelligent and simple as its design. The table can be assembled without tools. Its light weight contributes to its portability, so that it can find its place in any home - whether as a modern bedside table or a coffee table.
Blomus - fine furniture and accessories from North Rhine-Westphalia
The German company Blomus, based in Sundern in North Rhine-Westphalia, was founded in 1961 and is primarily known for its tasteful home accessories. Authenticity is just as important to the family business as quality craftsmanship. As a result, each product has an unmistakable design signature. Even though very different materials are used, it is primarily stainless steel that has significantly characterised the appearance of the brand to this day. The Oru side table is available in two different sizes. This smaller table is 47 cm high and has a diameter of 35 cm. It is available in different versions: completely in black, in a burnt metal version and in a matt and polished stainless steel version.
