Material and size
The design soap dish is made of porcelain. However, the porcelain is coated for aesthetic and tactile reasons with so-called soft touch, a matte, velvety plastic. The Zone Denmark bowl is 11 cm wide and 2.5 cm high.
Soap sciences
Soaps are used for cleanliness and have been used by the Sumerians. During the plague in the Middle Ages, people only rarely washed themselves, as it was suspected that just the washing made the body vulnerable to the pest. In the 17th century, Louis XIV took the soap out of its shadowy existence and even issued a soap purity law. In many French cities, for example Marseilles, scores of soap companies sprang up.
