It is one of the great classics of furniture history: we are talking about chair N. 14, designed by Michael Thonet in 1860.

Reedition of a classic

Everyone knows this chair: N. 14 by Michael Thonet is not only the most famous and best-selling, but also the most copied designer chair in furniture history.

Of course, we are offering you an original here - the Viennese manufacturer GTV Design, also known as Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, has namely brought out a licensed new edition of the classic N. 14 chair.

A piece of craftsmanship

As with most Thonet seating furniture, Wiener GTV Design has also relied on the proven bentwood technique for the N. 14 chair. Thus, large parts of the chair are made of beech wood that is bent into shape under steam.

Another special quality feature is that the backrest and rear legs are made from one piece.

Proven design

Although it already has more than a century under its belt, the N. 14 chair is anything but old-fashioned. With its sweeping design, N. 14 is as popular yesterday as it is today - and as a classic bistro chair, it's hard to imagine an upmarket ambience without it.

Bring a piece of design history into your home and order the iconic bentwood chair N. 14 by Wiener GTV Design right here in our online shop!

Version

The version offered here is stained black, which means that the wood structure Structure of the wood shimmers throughwhich is not clearly visible on the picture. If you would like a different finish - for example an opaque lacquered chair - please do not hesitate to contact us. Please also have a look at the PDF under "Downloads".

Our tip: If you also want to decorate your showcase with the design classic, you should take a look at the matching miniature from Vitra!
