Soaring is probably the most apt description for the design of the Morph wooden chair, and that on two levels of meaning. On the one hand, quite literally, because the design chair assumes a special posture. It seems as if it has a standing leg and a playing leg - the direction points upwards and conveys the impression of ascent and progress. On the other hand, the simple design is an up-and-coming classic, which will continue to assert its place in modern furnishings even after decades.
Design Studio Formstelle
The Formstelle design studio was founded in 2001 by Claudia Kleine and Jörg Kürschner. The two take on tasks in the fields of interior design, product design and corporate identity. For all points, the focus is also on the interrelationship between people and spatial perception. This is how authentic, unique and precisely coordinated designs and concepts are created. An in-house model-making workshop enables a hands-on approach to the subject during the design process.
Material and format
The Morph chair is made of wood and is available in oak, stained oak and American walnut. The frame is solid wood and the seat shell is made of veneered moulded wood. The surface of the frame is treated with natural oils and waxes, and the stained version has a matt lacquer finish.
The chair is 52 cm wide, 54 cm deep and 78.5 cm high. The seat height is 46 cm.
