Noble light: Miss K Table table lamp Flos
The Miss K table lamp by Flos creates a pleasant and diffuse light. Its entire lamp body consists of transparent, injection-moulded PMMA. The lamp has an internal diffuser made of opal, injection-moulded PC and an external diffuser made of injection-moulded PC, whose inner surface is coated with aluminium by means of a special vacuum process. A resistance dimmer with transparent housing is attached to the two-wire cable, which regulates the light intensity from 0 to 100%.
Designer Philippe Starck
The Frenchman Philippe Starck is one of the most popular designers of the present and a well-known representative of the New Design. He was born in Paris in 1949 and studied at the École Camondo in Paris until 1967. In 1969, Philippe Starck took on the role of Art Director for Pierre Cardin for two years.
Starck became a world-famous star designer through a commission from the French president at the time: François Mitterrand entrusted him with the interior design of the Elysée Palace. After he also worked as an interior designer at the Café Costes in Paris, his name was on everyone's lips: Starck furnished numerous hotels, shops and nightclubs. He is also becoming increasingly popular with furniture and accessories manufacturers, because his ideas are an excellent way to tap into a broad market.
His designs are extremely versatile and range from simple utilitarian objects to spectacular interiors. There is hardly a place where his objects are not represented.
