Floating light: Medusa table lamp from Oluce
The Medusa glass table lamp designed for Oluce is based on the principle of enclosing a metal dome in a glass cylinder. This gives the lamp the impression at first glance that it is floating in the air. Thanks to this special design, the light is gently emitted downwards , creating atmospheric, indirect lighting.
An ingenious detail - and certainly the inspiration for the name of the table lamp - is the fabric-covered cable that hangs down freely from the centre of the shade. Due to the reflections in the glass cylinder, it appears to sway, as if in motion, and is thus reminiscent of small snakes winding in the glass.
