Sample piece: the Mediterranea LED floor lamp by Petite Friture. The name Mediterranea is no coincidence: the designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance was inspired by the laundry hung out to dry on balconies, as it is often found in southern countries. The metal cloth, interspersed with geometric patterns, also hangs as if on a clothes pole and laps down to the left and right.
The Mediterranea luminaire gainsstability - and airiness - through three graceful feet. Like the designer, the floor lamp is a true Frenchman, which means that it is manufactured in France.
Material and format
Brass in itself stands out for its high quality. If it was brushed afterwards, even more so. Because a matt look always looks noble. The Mediterranea Design floor lamp is 120 cm high, 54 cm deep and 33 cm wide. The transparent cable is two metres long and equipped with a transparent switch.
The design
As already mentioned, the designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance is behind the Mediterranea design. The Frenchman with the melodious name was born in 1974. He knows his way around metal: Before his studies, he took a metal sculpture course at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Art.
Maison & Objet named Duchaufour-Lawrance Designer of the Year in 2007. He also has other awards to his name, such as the Red Dot Design Award or the Wallpaper Award. The Mediterranea designer lamps were presented to the public at the Milan Furniture Fair.
