The MBTK 24, also known as the Marianne Brandt teapot, is an iconic example of Bauhaus design and a masterpiece of functional design. The teapot was created by the German designer Marianne Brandt, a notable figure of the Bauhaus movement. She created the teapot in 1924 while studying at the Bauhaus Dessau and working as a metal workshop master. The MBTK 24 Bauhaus teapot designed by Marianne Brandt is absolutely unique. The teapot is part of a service of which only one complete example is known.

Hardly any other design from the Bauhaus period adheres to the formal principles of the style as consistently as this exclusive teapot. Circle, sphere and square are included as basic geometric elements.  The design of the teapot is also particularly noteworthy for its well thought-out details. The lid, for example, has a knob that also serves as a handle , and the spout is designed to allow clean pouring without dripping. These features show Brandt's careful attention to the user-friendliness and functionality of its designs.

Material and format

This Tecnolumen re-edition is made of sterling silver (925) and ebony. The teapot measures 22.5 cm in width and 17.5 cm in height. The capacity is 1.6 litres.
