Play of folds: Matin Flush wall lamp by Hay
Old fashion technique in a new light garment - the Matin Flush wall lamp by Inga Sempé convinces with a modern and at the same time poetic design. The lamp combines visual refinement with physical robustness and emits a soft, pleasant light.
Matin is a prime example of Sempé's endeavour to combine quality, beauty and function in her designs. Thus, the steel holder of the lamp is covered by a lampshade made of cotton, which has been processed with the stylistic pleating technique. Inspired by the Parisian ribbon shops, Matin is also available in a wide range of carefully selected colours that complement each other beautifully.
Matin Flush can be ordered from our shop in two sizes. Set a stylish accent in your living and office spaces by using Matin as a wall or ceiling lamp. Or combine several Matin luminaires with each other and immerse walls and ceilings in a colourful sea of folds.
On a tour of discovery
The French designer Inga Sempé studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI) in Paris and received a scholarship at the Villa Medici, Académie de France in Rome. Today she lives and works in Paris.
Sempé's design process is characterised by exploring different patterns and making inspiring sketches. Her design pieces are characterised by a strong, tactile character and delicate surfaces. Everyday use is always the focus of the designs. Thus, Inga Sempé often looks for materials with special properties to solve functional needs.
Hay - timeless design from Denmark
Founded in 2002, the Danish manufacturer Hay pursues the goal of creating furniture, lamps and home accessories that meet the needs of modern life and are accessible to as large an audience as possible. In doing so, they like to reinterpret Danish furniture classics of the 50s and 60s.
Inspired by the stable structures of architecture and the dynamic turns of fashion, Hay combines the values of both industries and creates durable and timeless quality products that combine functionality and elegance.
