Zanotta

Zanotta, the Italian furniture company, was founded in 1954 by Aurelio Zanotta in Nova Milanese and is regarded as one of the most important driving forces in international furniture design.
in 1958, the company - in collaboration with Mario Schleichenbauer - began to produce design-orientated collections that were considered exemplary worldwide in terms of functionality and aesthetics. These included the "Mezzadro" tractor seat (1957) by Achille and Pierluigi Castiglioni, the "Blow" inflatable chair (1967) by De Pas/D'Urbino/Lomazzi and the famous "Sacco" beanbag (1968) by Gatti/Paolini/Teodoro.
Some of the most prominent designers to have worked for Zanotta include Max Bill (stool "Sgabillo"), Achille and Pierluigi Castiglioni(chair "Sella" and folding table "Cumano"), Gabriele Mucchi (armchair "Susanna") and Todd Bracher (coffee table "Tod").
Many of the company's products can now be found in the design collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
