Ingo Maurer - The surprisingly different kind of lighting
Artist, poet, light figure - since 1966, the designs of the qualified graphic designer Ingo Maurer have been inspiring us because they are as extraordinary as they are individual. From the very beginning, Ingo Maurer produced his creations himself - this made the uncompromising realisation of every single artistic idea possible. Away from immobile, static designs, towards the lightness of being - this maxim is reflected in every one of Ingo Maurer's designs. He died on 21 October 2019, but his lighting art lives on!The fascination of the light bulb
The German designer's success story began with the Bulb table lamp, a luminaire in the shape of a giant light bulb. The light bulb also frequently played a central role in Ingo Maurer's future designs - as an ideal symbiosis of poetry and technology, the designer adored the simple beauty of the unshrouded light bulb.
He achieved particular fame with Lucellino, a light bulb with angel wings formed from feathers, which can also be found in multiplied form in the fascinating Birdie pendant light.
Many creations, one maxim
Anything but ordinary - this is the best way to describe Ingo Maurer's designs. Whether it's the Zettel'z pendant light, to which a large number of notes can be attached, the "Campari" pendant light, which no bar or lounge area should be without, or the famous, infinitely adjustable Lucetto pendant light - Ingo Maurer's creations are always good for a surprise.
