A real highlight, the Liceo 70 pendant luminaire by Santa & Cole
The Liceo 70 luminaire by Santa & Cole was designed by designers Louis Dilme, Xavier Fabre, Ignasi de Sola-Morales especially for the new building and extension of Barcelona's Gran Teatro del Liceo.
Rings of brass wire form the frame of this irregular sphere, which is wrapped by bronze wires used by aircraft manufacturers . At the bottom of the irregular sphere is a vertical socket, which conceals the light source that illuminates the inside of the lamp. The intertwined, folded net creates a theatrical effect.
Material and format
The lamp hangs on steep cables. The electric cable runs between them to the ceiling rose. This hanging lamp is, due to its up to 380 cm long suspension, especially suitable for rooms with high ceilings. It is 76 cm high and 70 cm wide. The structure of the lamp is made of satin-finished brass. A bronze net forms the lampshade.
