BauhausNowhaus: L25 Tafellampje LED Table lamp Reedition by Tecta
The small Tafellampje by Gerrit Rietveld was almost unknown so far. As part of the BauhausNowhaus programme, Tecta is giving this luminaire the importance it definitely deserves.
The strict geometric shapes are surprisingly modern for the time of the 1925 design, but until today the luminaire has never been part of a series production. After discussions with the Rietveld heirs, Tecta took on the task of producing the luminaire in a small, fine production of the unique luminaire.
It will be produced in 2019 in an initial series of 200 units.
Designer of the original version - Gerrit Rietveld
Peter Smithson called Gerrit Rietvield after his death the "doer of things - sometimes of magic things". His red-blue chair went around the world, but also less well-known designs like his lights are remarkable. For example, the Soffiten lamp, which he designed in 1922 for a doctor's surgery and which is now a classic in the Tecta range.
Material and size
The base of the luminaire is made of multi-coloured painted steel, the aluminium head is also painted and available in matt black or glossy. The stainless steel stand tube is brushed. This luminaire contains built-in LED lamps. The bulb can be replaced by the manufacturer. The light is directed downwards with a diffuse satin optic. The luminaire is 11.8 cm wide, 19 cm deep and 38.1 cm high.
