Well shaped: Kayak chair by Alias

Elegance and seating comfort - The focus of the Alias kayak chair is wood in its best form. The technically complex chair is characterised by a comfortable seat and an extremely appealing aesthetics as well as great stability.

The wood of the seat and backrest appears almost flowing, which is further reinforced by the specially shaped rear view of the backrest. The result is a dynamic overall look that stands in clear contrast to the solid material.

Designer Patrick Norguet

Patrick Norguet was born in 1969 in Tours. He studied industrial design in Paris and founded his first design studio in 2000, where he designs industrial products and is involved in architectural projects. In 2005 he was named Now! Design for living (Maison & Objets) Designer of the Year in 2005. His designs are convincing in their mixture of rationality and balance and are based on eclecticism - because he uses different techniques to develop completely new products.

Alias – Design made in Italy

Technology, lightness and innovation have been Alias' key values since 1979. The furniture of the Italian manufacturer is characterized by its transversal usability and its characteristic expression. The company was founded by Giandomenico Belotti, Carlo Forcolini and Enrico Baleri. Initially working excessively with steel, marble, leather and glass, other materials were added later. The famous Alias chair Spaghetti by founder Belotti and the Frame chair by Alberto Meda are particularly popular.

The chair consists of solid holm oak or beech wood and a backrest of curved multilayer wood. It is available in various versions and also with a glued seat cushion in Kvadrat fabric in the Steelcut version.
