The casual armchair is one of the world's most famous lounge chairs and guarantees highest seating comfort due to its ergonomic shape and its high-quality upholstery. The armchair by the Finnish designer Yrjö Kukkapuro is the most famous piece of furniture designed by him. For years, Kukkapuro tinkered with the development of the miracle armchair made of fibreglass, and in 1965 the time had come. The success of the chair went around the world. In the same year, the carousel armchair was used as a prop in the filming of the German science fiction television series Raumpatrouille - Die phantastischen Abenteuer des Raumschiffes Orion. The design armchair was later not only included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, it was also nominated in 1974 by the New York Times as the most comfortable seating furniture in the world.[1]
The beautifully designed armchair is upholstered in the finest Sørensen Prestige leather in black. The seat shell is enthroned on a chrome-plated steel rail, which gives the impression that the seat is floating above the footrest. Material and format
The design lounge chair Karuselli by Artek is available in black or white leather cover. Seat shell and base are made of glass fibre. A chromed steel spring connects the shell to the base. The world-famous science fiction armchair is 80 cm wide, 97.5 cm deep and 92 cm high, the seat height is 37 cm.
