Material and size
The wooden animals from Woud are made of solid oak. Oak is one of the hardwoods and is therefore particularly robust - a not insignificant advantage when Hibo is used as a toy. The Hibo hippo is 20 cm wide, 12.5 cm deep and 11 cm high.
The design
We owe the charming design to the designer Steffen Juul - graduate of the Danish Design School. In 1996, Juul founded his own design studio . His credo: reduction to the essential. Superfluous things have no place in his designs. What does have a place in his designs, however, is a beautiful form and high functionality. Probably the most famous wooden animals in the world: the wooden figures by Kay Bojesen. Kay Bojesen seemed to have a heart for animals, besides a hanging monkey, the designer had designed monkeys, birds, rabbits, elephants.
