Geometry: Herringbone Pillows cushion from Vitra
Clear colours and a cheerful effect are conveyed by the Herringbone Pillows cushions by Vitra - despite the classic rigidity of their geometric pattern. Overlapping stripes of different colour intensity create an inimitable pattern. It is created by dipping the pillow several times in different colours and was then used as an exact template for the printing process of the Herrinbone Pillow pillows.
Design Studio Raw-Edges
After Shay Alkalay and Yael Mer graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2007, they founded their design studio Raw-Edges together in London. Together they develop furniture, installations and products that combine provocative illusion and playfulness. They place great emphasis on colours, patterns and movement. In 2018 Raw-Edges furnished an entire floor of the Vitra House on the Vitra Campus. For this purpose they developed a series of cushions and small wooden objects with a pattern based on the so-called immersion technique. This resulted in the Herringbone Collection, which includes cushions, ceramic bowls and small wooden decorations.
Material and format
The cover of the pillows is made of 100% cotton. They are upholstered with duck half down. The cushions measure 40 x 40 cm and are available in five different colours.
