Hee Welling Design
Designer Hee Welling created the bar stool of the same name for Hay. It was modelled on an archetypal chair model that Hee Welling wanted to reduce to the bare essentials - strictly according to the motto "form follows function " - and improve in terms of functionality.
The result is a bar stool with steel struts that fits into any setting. The Hee Bar Stool almost looks like an artistic three-dimensional pencil drawing. The stool is also available in hot-dip galvanised.
Manufacture
Hay has the Hee Bar Stool designer bar stool made from galvanised and powder-coated steel, making it ideal for outdoor use.
There is a good reason why the Hee Bar Stool is only made from a single material: Hay wanted to avoid unnecessary and environmentally damaging transport routes and make it easier to recycle.
Incidentally, the thickness of the steel struts was thoroughly tested - Hay came to the conclusion that 11 mm thick metal wire offers the best stability without compromising on appearance.
