Piero Lissoni: design for the people

Piero Lissoni is an architect, art director and designer and is considered one of the masters of contemporary design. For over thirty years, he has developed projects worldwide in the fields of architecture, landscape and interior design as well as in product and graphic design. In 1986, together with Nicoletta Canesi, he founded Lissoni Associati, an architecture and design studio in Milan. Since then, he has designed furniture and lighting for numerous design brands such as Knoll, Kartell and Flos.

His most important projects include The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach, the Grand Park Hotel in Croatia, the redesign of the historic Camparino Bar in Milan's Galleria, The Middle House for the Swire Hotels Group in Shanghai, The Oberoi Al Zorah Beach Resort Ajman in the United Arab Emirates, the 240-unit Oceana Bal Harbour condominium in Miami, the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam or the renovation of the historic Teatro Nazionale in Milan.

Piero Lissoni's design principle is never to design something for a specific function or purpose, but always for people. He has already received a number of international awards, including the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the Compasso d'Oro ADI.

Knoll International – A belief in modern design

Material and format

The Grasshopper 3-piece set impresses with table tops made of coated white marble (Statuarietto). These float on a chrome-plated steel construction. And like a Grasshopper with its six legs that function as precision tools, the Knoll International Low Table also has several legs that raise the marble planets into the air and let them circle.

The largest table top has a diameter of 137 cm and a height of 20 cm, the middle one has a diameter of 120 cm and a height of 25 cm. The smallest table top has a diameter of 70 cm, is 30 cm high and can also be rotated by 90 degrees. The table trio is 216 cm wide and 137 cm deep in total.
