No frills: Fresnel wall and ceiling light from Oluce
The so-called Fresnel lens was originally developed for lighthouses. It is therefore not surprising that the Fresnel wall and ceiling light by designer Joe Colombo has retained its maritime origins - at least in terms of its appearance.
The lens is at the centre of the design. It is surrounded by a metal body that emphasises the practical support function and discreetly complements the light source. The Fresnel luminaire has been designed without unnecessary ornamentation, combining practicality with simple elegance.
Give your living rooms or outdoor areas a maritime look! Combine several Fresnel lights with each other, for example, to create light paths that illuminate rooms and paths. The light is available in a normal and LED version. The metal body can be ordered in white, black, grey or chrome-plated.
Visionary genius - Joe Colombo
Joe Colombo is still one of the greatest Italian designers of our time - a genius who firmly believed in an anti-nostalgic future in which intelligent technology would support every human activity and lay the foundations for completely new models of living.
It is therefore not surprising that Colombo's architectural, furniture and lighting designs were considered forward-looking and particularly functional. His designs include the so-called "living cells", each with its own function, such as the "Night-Cell" block (bed+cupboards+bathroom) or the "Kitchen-Box" (kitchen+dining room) and design classics such as the spray-print chair for Kartell from 1968 or the Acrilica table lamp from 1962, which combined the use of new materials and new technologies.
The designer also created a large number of other lamps for Oluce, such as the Colombo and Coupé series. Even today, 50 years after his death, many of his products continue to exist and inspire with the charm of the 1960s and their forward-looking features.
Oluce - lighting design made in Italy
Oluce was founded in 1945 by Giuseppe Ostuni and is the oldest Italian design company still active in the world of lighting. The product portfolio is characterised by excellence and innovation. Passionate aesthetic and technological approaches to the potential of light are translated into concrete form. Over the years, Oluce has succeeded in building a collection that is rich and varied, populated by products that go beyond fashion and become icons of Italian design.

With the Fresnel wall and ceiling light, you can choose between the version with a standard light source and the LED version:

The metal wall bracket is available in white, black, grey and chrome-plated. The chrome-plated version is only suitable for indoor use!
