Natural beauty: Foliage armchair by Kartell 

The Foliage armchair designed by Patricia Urquiola is another example of the skilful symbiosis of artificiality and naturalness for which the designer is known. The appearance of the furniture is reminiscent of plants from nature, the base made of colourfully lacquered metal serves as a support for the comfortable seat cover, whose decorative stitching is reminiscent of leaves.

The Spanish-born designer now lives and works in Milan, where she graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic in 1989. Afterwards, she worked as an assistant to Achille Castiglioni and was an employee of the De Padova studio, where she developed furniture together with Vico Magistretti. in 2001, Urquiola opened her own studio for product design, interior design and architecture. Her furniture designs are characterised by material diversity and colourful designs and adorn the product portfolio of renowned manufacturers, including Alessi, Cassina, Driade, Flos, Gan, Kartell, Rosenthal and Verywood.

The Foliage armchair by Kartell is 72 cm wide, 88 cm high and 84 cm deep. The seat height is 37 cm.
