The legendary Miller House with its furnishings by designer Alexander Girard attracted particular attention. Every single item was personally selected by him. The heart of the house was a sofa pit embedded in the floor of the living room. This was furnished with specially designed embroidered cushions. Amongst other things, the Double Heart 2 cushions were selected by the Girard family from the designer's inexhaustible fund and reissued by Vitra.
Alexander Girard
Alexander Girard is known as a formative figure in post-war American design. The American was born in 1907. Girard originally studied architecture, but in the course of his career he worked as a furniture, graphic, exhibition and interior designer. Textile design was a focal point of his work. Abstract, geometric forms and a variety of colour constellations are examples of his work.
Material and format
The pillow is upholstered with duck half down. The cover fabric is made of embroidered twill. The dimensions of the pillow are 40 x 30 cm.
